Evening Skincare Routine

As you saw from my Morning Skincare Routine in my previous post, I like to strip things down in the AM, who has time for a copious beauty routine before 8am?...not this gal!
In the evenings however I like to spend a lot of time preening and pampering and ensuring I give my skin a good start to heal and recover overnight. I do a double cleanse in the evening, starting first by swatching a cotton pad (or two) of Bioderma all over my face to remove any trace of makeup (eyes included). I then lather up my Origins Zero oil foaming cleanser on my face and go in with my Olay Pro-X brush (until I bite the bullet on the Clarisonic this will have to do) to give my face a thorough  clean and ensure i got off all of my makeup. Next I go in with my C&C dual moisturizer and Effaclar Duo combo and get my face moisturized. When I am feeling extra dry, or lacking that glow I pat on a little of the Elizabeth Grant Vitamin C nourishing Oil. I put tea tree oil directly on any spots I may have and it typically dries them right up. I slather on some of the Simple soothing Eye Balm all around my eyes, which has helped with my eye makeup application. As my last step (usually once I am in bed) I scrub my lips with the Lush Mint Julips lip scrub and then stick on a wad of the Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm.

I find this to be the perfect all encompassing routine that preps my skin for overnight recovery, how do you pamper yourself in the evening?

Morning Skincare Routine

Lately, whenever I have a free moment, what I enjoy doing more than anything else is honing my cleansing routine - I know this is probably not the most 'hip' past time, but when you struggle with acne prone skin like I do, finding what works is like striking gold!

In the morning there are a few products I enjoy using to get myself refreshed and my canvas clean for a nice makeup application. I start by cleansing with my La Roche-Posay Effaclar foaming cleanser, lathered up with a bit of hot water this feels amazing first thing. Next I take the Nuxe Micellaire cleansing water on a cotton pad and slap it all over my face - I'm mildly obsessed with it's rose scent. Next up I mix 2 pumps of each my Clean & Clear dual action moisturizer and La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo and slather it everywhere. This is both an injection of moisture and an acne treatment, it doesn't hurt that is leaves a cool tingling sensation. As a last step (after my makeup has been applied) I spritz some of the Caudalie Beauty Elixer to set my makeup and then swipe some of Lucas' Papaw ointment on my lips.
Now all i need is a bit of coffee and I'm golden. What do you enjoy to start your day?

Everyday Beauty Bits

As of late my fashion crazed ways have subsided, only to be replaced with a makeup fiend! I've spent many a lunch break, and after work stroll through the beauty isles of every drug store I come across, but on the daily these are the items I reach for as my everyday face.

Foundation: Revlon Nearly Naked has been what I have been reaching for most often, it gives the right amount of coverage, but blends seamlessly and feels lightweight. I apply this with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush to get an almost airbrushed look.
Concealer: for any dark areas I trust the Rimmel Wake Me Up to do just that, I pop on my Make Up Forever full cover waterproof concealer for any spots I have lurking and it seems to do the trick nicely.
Powder: Rimmel Stay Matte keeps my base set in place and ensures I don't get too 'dewy' throughout the day.
Bronzer/Blush: I love layering Hard Candy's options, I go for Bombshell, the darker shade, as a base and layer Living Doll over that using my Real Techniques Blush Brush. The peachy veins in Living Doll provide my cheeks with the illumination we are all after.
Brows: I like to slightly fill in my brows with the Maybelline Define-a-Brow, I spoolie those suckers and then set them in place with the Rimmel Lash Accelerator - ready for anything!
Eyes: I start with a new addition to my stash, the Rimmel Kohl Kajal in Nude on my waterline (to brighten up those babies) then i take my Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze on my finger and work it onto my lid - all too simple!
Lashes: I skip the liner most days and head straight for the lash curler, once my lashes are standing parallel to my face I apply 1-2 coats of the L'oreal Telescopic mascara and hope they remain curled for the remainder of the day.
Lips: Last but not least I swipe on one of my Revlon Lip Butters - this shade is Sorbet - and I am good to head out the door (this can even be applied in the rear view mirror while navigating out of your parking garage - but amateurs should not attempt).

I know this 'seems' like a lot, but i can usually get it done in 10-15 minutes as i am rushing out the door, simple and easy is the way I like it!
What is your go to makeup routine?
