Southside Shuffle

Last weekend was the Southside Shuffle - a Jazz and Blues festival that takes over my little town of Port Credit for a weekend each September. The streets are filled with tons of people lots of great food and amazing performances at every turn. I was working the VIP tents Friday and Saturday night hostessing, so in between drink orders (not many of these breaks occurred) I got to take in a front row seat to Ronnie Hawkins and Dr. Hook! It was an amazing weekend and I'm glad I got to share the the afternoon activities with John.

My Friend Filo

When I was asked by John what I wanted for my birthday this year I immediately know it had to be a new planner. On my wishlist was:
{a beautiful leather cover}
{perfect refillable page inserts}
{lots of slots and pockets}
{note pages}
After a LOT of searching I came across the filofax website and knew I had found what I had been looking for! The Filofax A5 Finsbury in raspberry was my perfect fit and the day it came in the mail was one of the happiest of my life!

Harris Island

Spending Labour Day weekend at Harris Island has been a tradition for my family since before I was born. As far back as I can remember the weather has always been sunny and hot, but this year was an exception. Having been in the midst of a heat wave the week prior I packed my flounciest, lightest clothes. Luckily I brought my pashmina (becuase I didn't pack anything with long sleeves! Even though the weather was chilly it was a fabulous weekend full of great food, watching old movies on the projector and lots of fresh meals!

Weekend up North

Getting away from the city for a weekend is a luxury that I don't take advantage of very often, but when I do have the chance to head up North I love to enjoy the simpler things. We went into Wiarton where the yearly rodeo was going on, followed by breakfast at an organic restaurant at the local airport. Heading to the beach is always a must, and of course sipping on a wine spritzer while reading a great book is definitely on my to do list!

Summer Ball Games

This summer I have frequented the 500 level of many Jays games. I always try to dress in my home teams' colour, while still being comfortable enough to cheer loudly and occasionally throw a few air punches.
